We started selling green coffee to friends because we kept buying full bags from Royal Coffee and had more than we could roast. That turned into a group order, and the group order turned into this.
What we are
A one-room operation in Oakland that buys spot lots from Royal Coffee, breaks them down, and sells them to home roasters at a fair markup. Not an importer, not a roastery, not a subscription club.
Why Royal
Royal has been importing into Oakland since 1978, publishes its spot list publicly, and warehouses everything 20 minutes from us. Their lot numbers are the ones printed on our bags, so you can trace anything we sell.
What we are not
We are not affiliated with Royal Coffee. We are a customer. If you want a full bag or a pallet, go straight to them — we will even tell you which lot to buy.
How we price
Wholesale bag price divided by bag weight, plus a margin, rounded up to the nearest quarter. On most lots that is cost plus 55%. Cup scores of 86 and up carry a small premium because they cost us more.
